Werner and Kurt... I just noticed that the dimensions on the structural framing model are not visible on the post. Try printing it to see if they are ledgable... my apologies. Let me know if you like the image reposted.

Rick, beautiful drawing. You are really getting the most out of sketch-up. I think your structural approach is solid. The only thing I question is the direction of your secondary floor framing: You are providing large floor openings perpendicular to that framing at the rear of the building and need to head of every single joist. I would also try to loose the gluelam currently shown on top of your curved shell: If you need additional framing at the floor elevation at all, I would suggest to move it inside your shell sandwich, to make have the shell uninterrupted to optimize guiding the light…
I would also love to see the ground floor slab and the foundation indicated to address the first floor too.

Absolutely, first floor needs a lot of work. I have it thought out , just not on "paper" yet.

Turning the secondary floor framing makes a lot of sense. I can easily remove the glulam header at the shell face and not interrupt the light filtering down the interior.

Thanks for the feeback!
